You can find it 35 km northwest of Pilsen in the direction of Karlovy Vary, in a charming, primeval nature, somewhere untouched by civilization the land of forests, hills and castle ruins. The spa town is favourably located in a large local urban forest, flowing into surrounding nature and ideal for those longing for peace and quiet. The first mention of mineral springs in today’s Konstantinovy L\u00e1zn\u011b dates back to the early 16th century. Though the history of spa started officially here only in 1803 when the first spa building was built near the sulphurous spring.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]In 1837 the the spa was bought by Prince Konstantin of L\u00f6wenstein, who then left the spa building to the tenants on condition that they would provide the baths to the poor and for a symbolic price for not very rich people. His noble intentions and especially the growing importance of the spa resulted in the fact, that the village, originally called Nov\u00e1 Ves, took Konstantin’s name at the end of the 19th century and was renamed Konstantinovy L\u00e1zn\u011b. Also the local herbal liqueur, which can be bought at the spa, is named after Konstantin. Today, there are ten spa buildings in Konstantinovy L\u00e1zn\u011b. The main building and the sulfur spring, used here for treatment, bears the name of a prominent cardiologist prof. The secondary indications include diseases of the musculosceletal system, metabolic disorders and diseases of respiratory system. The treatment plan includes regimen, diet, motoric and medication treatments, balneological and physiotherapy procedures. The main methods of treatment are based on the use of natural healing resources – mineral carbonic water from Prusik Spring, which is used for drinking as well as for carbonated baths with water heated up to 33-34 \u00b0 C. It is a source of natural ferrous bicarbonate sodium hydroxide hypotonic acid pumped from a depth of 40 m at a temperature of 9.9 degrees Celsius.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Mineral water in Konstantinovy L\u00e1zn\u011b has a pleasant taste, it is clear and colorless with a slight hydrogen sulfide odor. Thanks to this medicinal water, Konstantinovy L\u00e1zn\u011b is number one in the Czech Republic since its chemical analysis shows the highest maximum carbon dioxide content within the Czech Republic, and which is benefitial to the heart, vascular and nervous system, muscles, bones and skin.
